Campground Rules

Mountain View Campground is privately owned and operated.  The following rules are established for the safety and comfort of all campers and are subject to change at owners discretion.  Campers disregarding rules may be subject to dismissal without refund. The management reserves the right to prohibit or eject any party at any time without refund. No cash refund for early departures (weather, etc).  Thank you for your cooperation.

Opening the gate for unauthorized/unregistered guests or vehicles is strictly prohibited. 

SITE OCCUPANCY: Maximum 6 people per site at all times (including visitors).
 The registered overnight camping guest MUST pre-register day visitors at the office.  We do not admit any unregistered visitor.  Visitors must arrive during office hours only and will not be admitted any later than 7pm.  Visitor must complete registration/waiver upon arrival, pay applicable fees, obtain parking pass and exit the campground by 9 PM. Access to all campground amenities is included with day visitor pass.  Sites with unregistered persons will be asked to leave the campground. Site Occupancy Limit applies to both overnight guests and day visitors – LIMIT OF 6 PEOPLE TOTAL PER SITE AT ALL TIMES. Visitors only admitted if space allows and pre-registered.

SPEED LIMIT: 5 M.P.H. throughout the park.  Drive slowly and with caution.

VEHICLES & PARKING: Each vehicle must be registered and will be issued a parking pass that must be visibly displayed.  Limit of 2 vehicles per site, and must be parked on assigned site.  No blocking other sites, roadways or parking on vacant sites. Fee applies for additional vehicles or use of overflow parking.  VERY LIMITED overflow parking is available and space cannot be guaranteed.  PLEASE CARPOOL!  

FIRES: FIRE RINGS MAY NOT BE MOVED! Maintain fires at a safe level and do not leave fire unattended. Please make sure fires are fully extinguished upon check-out.  All fires must be out by 12:00 AM (midnight).

FIREWOOD: Per VT state law, firewood may not be transported into the state to prevent the spread of insect infestations. DO NOT bring firewood from over a 50 mile radius.  Buy it where you burn it!  Local kiln dried firewood is available for sale in the camp store.  

NO CUTTING OR DISFIGURING OF TREES!  Help us keep the trees healthy and growing for everyone to enjoy!

CHILDREN: Parents are responsible for the conduct of their children at all times. Direct adult supervision of all children under 14 is required after dark and under 10 at all times around the campground. 
*All children must be supervised while in campstore or using mini-golf or other campground games*

Persons under 18 years old are not allowed to camp or stay on property without adult supervision.

BATHHOUSE: Code is required for access to showers and laundry rooms. Treat bathrooms, showers and laundromat with care. Please report any problems to the office. No dogs or washing dishes in restrooms.  Quarter exchange for laundry machines is available at the store.

TRASH & RECYCLING: Please dispose of trash & recycling in designated dumpsters, do not leave behind at site. DO NOT BURN TRASH. Dumpsters may not be used to dispose of large items such as grills, furniture, carpets, electronics, appliances, tires or metal.
*We collect returnable bottles and cans – all proceeds are donated to the local animal shelter! 

PROHIBITED!!!: Use of Drones & RC Vehicles,  Firearms, Weapons, Fireworks, Generators and Golf Carts/ATV’s are prohibited on the property. 
No patio mats/carpets on grass.  
No washing cars or RV’s.
No EV charging permitted.

Do not walk through or park on other campsites and keep noise and music to a respectful volume at all times.

POOLS: SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. Do not swim alone. No lifeguards provided.  
Children 14 & under must be supervised by an adult at the river and pools.

HOT TUB: For adults 18 & over only.
Shower before entering and observe specific rules posted on the pool premises.  

PETS: Must be leashed (unless in off leash dog park) and under the control of an adult owner at all times. Please pick up after your pet immediately!  Pets are not allowed in the pool areas or buildings and may not be left unattended outside or in vehicles.  Current Rabies certificate required.


  1. All RV’s and vehicles must be in operable and good condition.  
  2. Sites should be kept clean, neat and free of trash and clutter.  
  3. All items, camping unit and vehicles must be contained to the site area.
  4. Shade tents are permitted, please secure them appropriately.  
  5. Leave campsite as clean as you found it, take all trash to dumpsters.
  • RV Sites – for RV campers only, NO tents. One camping unit per site.
  • Tent Sites – for Tent Camping Only, NO RV’s. Limit 2 tents per site. 
  • No tents permitted at cabin rentals.
  • All sewer hose connections must be sealed!

Sites: Payment in full is collected at time of reservation.
Cabin Rentals: 50% deposit collected at time of reservation.
*All cancelled reservations are subject to a minimum $25 cancellation/administrative fee*

We look forward to your staying with us, but understand that plans may change.  If you should need to cancel, we ask that you give as much notice as possible, preferrably in writing/e-mail, and be understanding  that the following cancellation policy is agreed to at booking and will apply.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Holiday periods and one night reservations are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
  • RV/Tent Sites:
    Cancellation with 14 + days notice: refund minus $25 cancellation fee.  Extended stays 14 or more nights, $100 cancellation fee.
    Cancellation with 3 -14 days notice: 50% of total site fee retained as cancellation fee.
    Cancellation with 72 hours or less notice/no shows: non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Cabin Rentals:
    Cancellations with 14 + days notice: deposit is refunded minus $50 cancellation fee.
    Cancellation with less than 14 days noticedeposit is non-refundable.

All Reservations:

  • Late changes and any change that shortens the length of reservation are subject to a $25 change/cancel fee.
  • Changes made within 72 hours of scheduled arrival that shorten the length of stay are issued no refund. 
  • No refunds for early departures.
  • You must arrive or otherwise contact us by 12pm (noon) the day following your scheduled arrival date or reservation will be forfeited with no refund issued.
  • Online booking fee and Site Lock fees are non-refundable.
  • *PLEASE NOTE:  Site Lock fee is OPTIONAL and may be chosen to select and guarantee a specific site #, based on current availability.  Otherwise, reservation still guarantees the selected site type, but specific site/special requests cannot be guaranteed, site number is assigned at check-in.

Booking Policies:

  • Two night minimum for advance reservations.
  • Holidays, select periods or sites and rentals may require a 3 or more reservation based on availability.
  • Maximum online reservation is 14 nights, 7 for tent sites.
  • Basic & Prime Sites: up to 14 night stay; Deluxe Patio Sites: up to 28 night stay.
  • One night reservations are typically made available 7 days in advance and taken at that time based on availability.

Holiday Weekends include:
Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day, Labor Day Weekend and 
Indigenous People’s Day/Canadian Thanksgiving (closing weekend)

Check in & out times are necessary for the flow of operations. 
DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE CHECK-IN TIME without checking availability and making arrangements with us.  We are happy to accommodate if possible, but please note that this is an additional service and an EARLY CHECK-IN FEE WILL BE CHARGED.

We are a gated campground.  Each vehicle must be registered and is issued a parking/gate pass at check-in.  Please return it to the office or after hours drop box upon checkout.  
Lost or unreturned passes subject to a $10 fee.  

Gate pass is for the REGISTERED VEHICLE & REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY.  DO NOT use your issued gate pass to open gate for ANY other vehicle!!

Most frequent questions and answers

Yes!  Dogs are very welcomed at Mountain View Campground.  Please have up to date Rabies certificates and vaccination records for all pets.  Please see Rules that apply to pet owners above.  Rentals are also pet friendly and allow up to 2 dogs with pet fee.

We strongly encourage reservations but yes last minute walk-ins are accepted, based on availability.  We recommend reserving online (cutoff time is 5pm for same day arrivals) or calling us during normal office hours to check availability/reserve prior to your arrival.  

Walk-ins are accepted during our office hours only, and based on availability.  Again, we encourage calling ahead, no walk-ins after office closes.

Advance reservations require a 2 night minimum.  Holidays, select periods or sites and rentals may require a 3 or more night minimum.  

One night reservations will be made available (based on availability) about 7 days in advance. Full one night payment is collected to reserve and is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

The camping season is mid May to mid October.  We typically close for the season on the second Monday of October.  We do not offer any winter camping.  Deluxe Cabin Rentals are available in winter time – see more info here.

The town of Stowe is about a 20 min drive from the  campground.  It is a must see destination and we definitely recommend spending some time there!  But also keep in mind, the town of Morrisville is very close, only about 5 min away and offers just about anything you could need during your stay – grocery stores, gas stations, shopping, restaurants & breweries!

No, we do not offer any RV storage services at any time of year.  Only our current seasonal campers are permitted to store their RV on site during the winter months.

We offer a limited number of seasonal/extended stay RV site rentals on specific sites only.  2023 SEASONAL SITES – FULL
Due to the limited number, low turnover and high demand, we have a waitlist incase anything does become available in the future.  Please email us if you would like to fill out the waitlist application.

We do not offer a monthly rate.  All other RV sites are transient and have a 14-28 night max depending on the site at the weekly rate.  Tent sites have a 7 night max. 

Traveling health care workers are welcome to contact us for possible extended stays (RV sites only). 

Unfortunately, we do not offer gift certificates at this time.  Existing unexpired gift certificates or credits will of course be honored but are not redeemable during online booking.  Please email or call for assistance booking with these.

The site lock feature allows guests the option of selecting and guaranteeing a specific site number from our camp map.  If you have a favorite site or a group that would like to be together, this is for you!  This optional feature incurs a $20 fee per reservation and is non-refundable.  Sites available to lock will be selectable on the interactive map during booking.  

Please note that this is OPTIONAL!  You may also reserve by site type (Basic, Deluxe, etc.) and you are still guaranteed that type of site but specific site number will be assigned at check-in.
